TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —One student from Canyon Ridge High School was announced as the overall First Federal Academic All-Star Scholarship winner Thursday morning.

Rim Tekle was awarded a $5,000 scholarship from First Federal to help support her in her future endeavors.

Rim will be attending the University of Idaho in the fall to major in Biology or Chemistry. She says she hopes to be a doctor one day.

Rim is so thankful to Canyon Ridge High School for all that it has taught her, as she was a member of the student council and National Honor Society.

She says this scholarship means a lot to her and her family.

“I am super thankful and one thing that I get out of this is that hard work does pay off; missing a lot of dances, maybe even the biggest games sometimes, I was studying for classes and tests. It pays off, it might not pay off that same moment, that same time, but later in life it will pay off,” Teckle said. “If you work hard you will get whatever you want in life.”

Rim graduated from Canyon Ridge on Monday night.
