Gina is a graduate of the University of Idaho and Gonzaga University and has her master's degree in communication leadership studies. She has spent the past two plus decades in the media and journalism field working in print, radio and television. In January of 2023, she stepped down from her radio programming position of nearly 15 years to come back to television news. She volunteers her time by being a judge for the Business Professionals of America High School Competitions the past 14 years, as well as being an active member of the Benevolent and Protective order of Elks and holds the position of Public Information Officer on a local level. Gina is an Idaho native and loves the outdoors, classic cars and spending time with her family.

U.S. Forest Service wildfire management crews map out plan to battle the Hayden Fire in the Salmon Challis National Forest, 18 miles west of Leadore, ID. It's unknown how the blaze got started on Wednesday, July 19, in the last three days it has grown exponentially to 3633 acres.

Several wildfires are burning across the Gem State, the biggest one of concern is the Hayden Creek Fire in the Salmon Challis National Forest that has burned 3026 acres so far. Other fires of concern are the Midnight Fire in the Salmon Fire District in north central Idaho that has charred 176 acres and is 25% contained, and the Goldrun Fire that is 10% contained and has burned roughly 830 acres.
