Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Unemployment in the state of Idaho continues to drop.

New data from the Idaho Department of Labor shows the unemployment rate was 2.7% in March, down from February’s rate of 2.8%.

That number marks a new record low since the series began in 1976.

Department of Labor data shows the number of people employed or looking for work grew by 0.5% to more than 900,000.

Industries with the greatest declines were retail trade, information, durable goods manufacturing, federal and state government, and other sectors.

The city of Twin Falls experienced the fastest over-the-month nonfarm job gains across all of Idaho’s metropolitan areas.
